"St Barnabas is a warm, positive school. The staff and headteacher are always cheerful and approachable and listen and communicate very well"

Welcome to the St Barnabas’ Church of England (VC) Primary School website which we hope you will find both informative and easy to use. By providing links to important documents such as newsletters, curriculum information and school policies, our website is intended to be a useful tool, not only for existing pupils' families, but also for those who would like to find out more about our school. We are open to feedback so please let us know if you feel something is missing.

At St Barnabas’ Church of England Primary School we are proud of our supportive, caring school ethos which is based on Christian values – friendship, trust, peace, forgiveness, creativity and compassion. These qualities were celebrated by both our Ofsted and our Church inspections.  We encourage self-respect and respect for others. We aim high and are ambitious for our children: we want them to be happy and self-confident, to develop a love for learning and to be the very best that they can be. We build good relationships with all our families, creating a close community and an effective partnership with parents. Older children support the younger ones in a variety of ways, helping newcomers to feel secure and enjoy their time with us. All our children are taught to share a sense of respect and responsibility towards each other.

In 2015 we were inspected by Ofsted and by inspectors from the Diocese.  We were judged 'Good' by both.  Ofsted recognised the strength of relationships with children and parents and the good quality of teaching and learning.  Our reports can be read by clicking on the links below.

The best way to understand our aims and values is to visit our school “in action”. Please come and experience first-hand what we are all about so that we can answer any questions you may have.

We look forward to welcoming you to St Barnabas.

Mrs Jill Hibbs, Headteacher
