After School Club Playworker
St Barnabas is a popular, thriving Church of England primary school in a beautiful rural setting. Our children are highly motivated and excited by learning and they are polite and well-behaved. Our parents are supportive of the school and work in partnership to achieve the best for our pupils.
We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic after school club playworker to undertake the care of individuals or groups and support their learning and development after school.
You will need to have the ability to:
• consult and work collaboratively as part of a team; to reflect on own practice and adapt; maintain records; make decisions and solve problems; meet deadlines; have good organisational skills; work on your own initiative; have effective communication skills both orally and in writing.
The appointed person will be involved in preparing the hall or classroom for the children prior to their arrival and packing away afterwards. Resources will need to be set out (continuous provision) and additional activities may be prepared. In the afternoons, a snack will need to be prepared.
You will be expected to join in and support the children to develop their ideas and activities effectively and safely.
You will maintain appropriate records for children. Ensure the developmental needs of each child are met building on their needs, feelings and interests. Promote the well-being of all children and develop warm, caring relationships with them.
The appointed person will need to have had previous experience in working with children or have relevant qualification or training.
Hours of work: Monday – Friday 3.15pm – 5.30pm (term time only - 38 weeks per year)
Salary: £10.98 per hour, Actual Salary £5,398.47 (pending pay award)
Contract type: Temporary
