Accommodating pre-school aged children
Ofsted 2018 GOOD – “The small group size and effective key person system helps children to settle well and play confidently.”
“…Children are settled, happy and ready to learn because staff provide a welcoming and stimulating environment…”
In June 2016 St Barnabas Primary School extended their age range to include children from 2 years old. Our pre-school children are taught in a mobile classroom set within our beautiful surroundings.
We have a team of highly qualified and experienced staff, including our Early Years Teacher, working together to provide a rich and stimulating nursery experience following the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. The setting has two rooms for the children to develop their learning in. The ‘messy’room has a sandpit, painting trays, water play and craft tables. The ‘carpet’room has a reading corner, role play areas, games and a computer. We encourage child led activities as well as theme based adult directed activities suited to the children’s stages of development.
Our outside areas provide the children with access to outside play throughout the year direct from the classroom (full waterproofs provided) to provide a free flowing learning environment with a fully equipped mud kitchen and vegetable garden.
We are open Monday to Friday 9am to 3pm. Hot meals are available for chidren staying until 1pm or for the full day.
Please contact the school for further information or to arrange to have a look around.
