Welcome to Stonehenge Class
Year 5 and Year 6
Welcome to our class called Stonehenge, we are the eldest of the school and the tallest! As we are the oldest, we have lots of responsibilities, you will find us around school always helping out. Scroll down to see some pictures of our time this year, we have had so much fun. We hope you enjoy looking at them.
Welcome back to term 5 and 6
Our topic for the next two terms is All Around The World. We will be focusing on our place within Earth. Term 6 Stonehenge will have weekly Forest School sessions.
World Book Day
We celebrated World Book Day in traditional style this year by dressing up as our favourite book characters. Everyone looked amazing and enjoyed sharing all about their characters. In addition, we also had a ‘Bookish Bake Off’, pupils were invited to bake something related to their favourite stories. We all loved sharing the eating of the ‘Bookish Bake Off’ entries!
Stonehenge Year 6 pupils were invited to BUPA Care Home for a Remembrance service. All pupils showed understanding and empathy beyond their years.
Lavington Cross Country Sport
Stonehenge were invited to Lavington School for cross country tournament. They all participated with a great attitude, and showed what it truly means to be supportive. A big well done to all.
Egyptian Dance Workshop
We were thrilled to start off our Egyptian topic with a dance workshop. Each class had a dedicated workshop session, were they planned and rehearsed their very own Egyptian theme dance. These were presented to the school and parents at an end of the day show.
Term 1 saw Stonehenge class take a residential to Pencelli in the South of Wales. Plas Pencelli is large outdoor centre located on the edge of the Brecon Beacons in South Wales. Their aim is to provide opportunities for young people to participate in outdoor activities, whether focusing on personal development or the environmental sciences. During our trip, pupils took part in caving, abseiling, gorge walking and canoeing. All pupils pushed themselves harder than ever before. They showed what true determination and perseverance means. We were so proud of each and every one of them.
