Forest School

At St Barnabas, we are delighted to offer Forest School as part of our curriculum. Forest School is a child-centred, outdoor learning experience where children are encouraged to explore, discover and learn in the natural environment.

Imagine your child building a den with friends, creating artwork from leaves and twigs, or sitting quietly toasting marshmallows around the fire. These experiences spark curiosity and creativity while also helping children to develop independence, resilience and teamwork.

Forest School also nurtures wellbeing. Spending time outdoors gives children the chance to connect with nature, enjoy fresh air and build positive relationships in a calm and inspiring setting.

Every class has the opportunity to take part in Forest School during each big term, and our Reception children enjoy sessions throughout the whole year. This ensures all pupils benefit regularly from the joy and learning that comes from time spent outdoors.
