Nursery
Our fully qualified team have a wealth of knowledge and experience in supporting children from the age of two. As a teacher run nursery, led by a qualified teacher alongside experienced early years practitioners, we ensure high quality teaching and care, planning carefully for each child’s individual learning and development needs. Everything we do is rooted in our school values of love, aspiration, and belonging, ensuring every child feels valued, nurtured, and supported to flourish.
Mrs Morgan (teacher), Mrs Laura Emm, Mrs Janice Thacker and Mrs Jayne Bowyer warmly welcome you to St Barnabas Primary School Nursery.
We provide a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment where children feel a strong sense of belonging. Through high quality interactions, warm relationships, and carefully planned play, we build strong foundations for future learning.
Our curriculum places a strong focus on developing fundamental skills, including communication and language, physical development, personal, social, and emotional development, early independence, and early mathematical and literacy understanding. These essential foundations support children to grow in confidence, curiosity, and resilience, developing a genuine love of learning.
As part of our primary school, we are able to offer a seamless transition into Reception and beyond. Close working relationships between nursery and school staff ensure continuity in learning, routines, and expectations, so that children feel secure, confident, and well prepared for the next stage of their education.
We promote children’s learning and development through a child friendly environment that offers rich opportunities to learn through play. We encourage independence by offering children meaningful choices in their play, supporting them to develop new skills and share experiences with one another.
Should you wish to enrol your child, please complete an enrolment form and we will be in touch with you to discuss session requirements and arrange a settling-in session.
