Remote Learning
At St Barnabas, we are committed to ensuring that every child continues to feel a strong sense of love, belonging and aspiration, even when learning needs to take place at home. If remote education is required, we will provide a clear, structured and supportive approach so that pupils can continue to flourish academically and personally.
What pupils can expect
Our remote education reflects the same high expectations and carefully sequenced curriculum that pupils would receive in school.
Pupils will receive:
-
Daily learning activities that follow our planned curriculum
-
A blend of live teaching, recorded lessons and independent learning tasks
-
Clear instructions for each task, including guidance and submission deadlines
-
Regular feedback from teachers to support progress and celebrate effort
We ensure that learning at home continues to nurture aspiration, encouraging children to take pride in their work and strive for their very best.
Accessing remote education
Pupils will use their individual school login details to access the online platform.
If families experience any technical difficulties, support is available. Please contact the school office for assistance and we will be happy to help. We are committed to ensuring that every family feels supported and included.
Support for pupils with additional needs
At St Barnabas, belonging means that every child is known and valued. We recognise that some pupils, including those with SEND, may need adapted provision to learn successfully at home. Teachers will make appropriate adjustments, provide differentiated resources and offer additional guidance where needed to ensure that all children can access learning.
Duration and expectations
Remote education will align with Department for Education expectations.
Primary aged pupils will be provided with approximately three to four hours of learning each day.
Our aim is to provide a balanced approach that supports both academic progress and emotional wellbeing.
The role of parents and carers
We greatly value our partnership with parents and carers. Your support helps children to feel secure and confident in their learning. We ask that families:
-
Provide a quiet and appropriate space for learning where possible
-
Encourage children to follow the daily timetable
-
Maintain regular communication with the school if support is needed
By working together, we ensure that love, aspiration and belonging remain at the heart of our community, whether children are learning in school or at home.
