SEND/SAN Information
At St Barnabas Primary School, we recognise that every child is unique and learns in different ways. We are committed to ensuring that all pupils, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities/Special Additional Needs, achieve well and feel a strong sense of belonging within our school community.
We are an inclusive school with high expectations for all. Through quality first teaching, appropriate adaptation, targeted support and purposeful challenge, we enable every child to access the curriculum and make strong progress from their starting points.
We understand that pupils may require different types and levels of support at different times. Our provision is carefully monitored and regularly reviewed to ensure it is effective, responsive and tailored to individual needs. Early identification and timely intervention are central to our approach, enabling us to provide the right support at the right time.
We work in close partnership with parents and carers, recognising the important role they play in their child’s development. Communication is open and supportive, and our staff are always available to listen, advise and work collaboratively with families.
Our aim is to ensure that pupils with Special Educational/Additional Needs are fully included in all aspects of school life. We support children to develop independence, resilience and confidence, so they are well prepared for the next stage of their education.
Where appropriate, we work with external professionals to further support pupils’ needs. All provision is designed as part of a graduated approach and is carefully planned to complement high quality classroom teaching.
