Stonehenge
Stonehenge Class is stepping into an exciting new term in Forest School, where each week will bring a fresh challenge designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and celebrate creativity. The children will explore the outdoors through hands‑on experiences, from learning how to safely prepare and enjoy food cooked over a fire to shaping their own beautiful clay creations inspired by nature. Every activity is centred around the children themselves—their ideas, their teamwork, and their growing sense of adventure—making this term a wonderful opportunity for them to learn, discover, and thrive in the forest environment.
The children have been building confidence and skills through hands‑on outdoor learning, creating fire, whittling wood, climbing trees, and enjoying imaginative play in the forest. They have also had some exciting wildlife encounters, with visits from deer, a mouse, and even some rabbits. A particular highlight has been roasting marshmallows over the fire, and the children are now looking forward to the next step—cooking their own food on the fire very soon.
The Forest School term in Stonehenge is drawing to a close. Before the end of term, we decided to have lots of fun making toasties for everyone to enjoy. All the children who wanted to join in the challenge took part and did a fantastic job. We are hopeful that, in our final session, we will be able to complete an exciting experiment together.
Our final Forest School session of the term is upon us, and it has been a truly memorable one.
We completed our exciting experiment using an egg and a sparkler, which left the children who came to watch completely awe‑struck. Their curiosity and enthusiasm were wonderful to see, and the session sparked plenty of discussion and excitement.
The children are already looking forward to their next Forest School term, where they will have even more opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. Future sessions will continue to build confidence, curiosity, and creativity, with plans to include outdoor cooking and baking alongside nature‑based learning experiences.
