Governor Roles & Responsibities
The governing body has responsibility for the conduct of the school with a view to promoting high standards of educational achievement. There are three key roles and responsibilities that governors fulfil, in order to achieve that goal:
- ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;
- holding the head teacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils;
- overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.
In order to pursue its duties, the Governing Body is organised into committees with areas of responsibility specified in their terms of reference. Each committee meets regularly and reports back to the full Governing Body at termly meetings.
